Termite Control

Protect Your Home with Expert Termite Control
Termites are often called “silent destroyers” for good reason. Each year, these pests cause over $5 billion in damages across America, putting homeowners at risk of significant financial loss. With many homeowners unaware that their insurance policies typically don’t cover termite damage, taking proactive steps toward termite control is essential.
Termite control is important to all home and business owners.

It is estimated that a termite colony may be able to eat as much as 11 pounds of wood in just one month.

Understanding Termite Control During Swarm Season

Termite swarm season, which begins in mid-February, is a critical time for homeowners. As temperatures rise, reproductive termites take flight, leading to thousands of winged swarmers potentially invading your home. Recognizing the signs of a termite infestation early can save you from extensive damage and costly repairs. When an infestation is present inside the house, the swarmers end up inside. Thousands of winged reproductive termites can emerge within minutes and cover your entire floor in some cases. When this happens, you know there’s an infestation and likely damage to accompany it.

Sentricon Termite Colony Elimination System

Four Seasons Pest Solutions offers complete termite control through colony elimination utilizing the Sentricon Baiting System. Sentricon has been the leading name in termite control for almost 3 decades and shows no sign of stopping! This product eliminates the entire colony by disrupting the ability for worker termites to molt. When a termite can’t molt, they can’t survive. With no workers in a colony, the colony will starve. Once the queen dies, the colony is finished. No queen. No colony. No Worries!

Conventional Liquid Barrier Termite Control Treatments

Four  Seasons uses only non-repellant termiticides for liquid termite treatments.   Non-repellents such as Termidor and Premise have faced extensive research and field testing and have, without a doubt, soared past the competition.  Additionally, they have shown years of successful control over termite invasion.
Our treatments include a 10-year warranty if you choose to renew your warranty each year. It’s a small price to pay for a warranty that gives you the peace of mind that comes with knowing your home is protected from termites for 10 years!
Once the 10-year period is over, we also offer “booster” treatments to extend the life an additional 10 years, including an additional 10-year warranty. That’s right… Four Seasons can offer you lifetime protection from termites. Guaranteed!

Termite Inspections

If your home isn’t protected from termites by one of our termite treatment plans, an annual inspection is the next best thing. Although this won’t prevent your home from potentially having an infestation and the damage that accompanies infestation, it can reduce the damages if caught early on. That’s why we recommend an annual termite inspection be performed on every untreated structure.

Subterranean Termite Basics

About mid February of every year, termite season begins in our region. Depending upon the weather, termites may begin swarming slightly at this time. By April or May, termite swarms can be at the height of swarm season. During this time it is common to find termite swarmers and their shed wings on your vehicle, in your window sills both inside and outside, in spider webs and many other places.

Seeing termite swarms or their shed wings is a strong indication that you have an infestation. However, just because you don’t see them does not mean you don’t have them. Get a free termite inspection and know for sure. Your home is too valuable to let termites destroy it.

The termite lifecycle can help in termite control projects.

BIOLOGY BASICS

Subterranean termites are social insects that live in societies whose members are mostly immature individuals. Their colonies, which can contain thousands to millions of termites, are formidable, even though each individual termite is soft-bodied and delicate. In nature, subterranean termites are closely associated with the soil habitat where they tunnel to locate water and food (e.g., wood, fallen logs, and other cellulose-containing materials). Termites excavate galleries throughout their food as they consume it. They conceal their workings and can completely honeycomb wood by feeding along the grain and following the softer spring wood, leaving little more than a thin wooden exterior. Subterranean termites construct above-ground earthen runways (shelter tubes) that protect them from the drying effects of air as well as from natural enemies, such as ants. Termites are very susceptible to desiccation, and thus they are dependent on moisture sources.

Effective Termite Control Prevention Tips

1. Regular Inspections:

Schedule annual inspections with a licensed pest control professional to catch any potential infestations early.

2. Moisture Control:

Termites thrive in damp environments. Ensure your home has proper drainage and repair any leaks promptly.

3. Seal Entry Points:

Inspect your home for cracks and crevices that could allow termites entry, and seal them to deter infestations.

4. Remove Wood Debris:

Clear away wood piles, dead trees, or stumps near your home’s foundation, as these can attract termites.
Protecting your home from termite damage requires knowledge, vigilance, and expert intervention. By understanding the threats posed by termites and implementing effective control measures, you can safeguard your investment. Don’t wait for a swarm to invade; ensure your home is termite-free with the right preventative strategies and professional services.
