Let’s discuss a few important details about why you should have pest control. Then, you can make an educated decision on what you should do to reduce pests where you live or work.
Having Pest Control Has its Benefits
If you’ve never had pest control, it’s kind of like never having seen, heard or smelled. It’s like you’ve never tasted sugar or smelled a bouquet of flowers. Imagine that you’ve never laid eyes on the beauty of this earth or heard the sound of birds singing on a sunny day. That’s what you’re missing when you don’t have pest control. Well… that might be a bit of an exaggeration or a little hyperbole but you get the point. Once you’ve had pest control you wonder how you ever lived without it!
There are a plethora of great benefits and several great reasons why you should have pest control. Let’s discuss the big ones and then you can decide for yourself.
Pests Change with the Weather
Just because it’s cool today and warm tomorrow doesn’t mean the pests will be different but pests do change as the weather changes. In the spring, new life emerges and a variety of pests are seen, including lots of spiders, ticks, mosquitos and termite swarmers. Summer months bring out the spiders by the hundreds of thousands and millions! Wasps, bees, snakes, mosquitos, ticks and several other pests also become more noticeable in larger numbers more regularly. As fall approaches, ants, rodents, spiders, Asian lady beetles, stink bugs and other pests are more prevalent while other pests may disappear. When winter arrives, many pests are hibernating or their lifecycle has ended and they won’t be seen again until spring. Still, rodents, wasps, flies, ants, spiders and a few other pests may be seen on warmer winter days. Every season has its pests and every pest has its season. (Spiders just happen to have all the seasons!)
Since most people have no knowledge on what pests to treat for until that particular pest is present, DIY pest control simply won’t help prevent them. That’s just one of the many reasons why professional pest control is so valuable; we DO know and we work to stop pests BEFORE they arrive!
You Need Peace of Mind
The number one reason why most people have pest control is peace of mind. When you know someone is taking care of your property to ensure you have no pests, that’s one less worry you face each day and one less item on your list of things to do. Being able to leave out for work each day and know that you and your family will come home to a healthy, pest free environment is important. Avoiding that mid-day call or text from a child who is fearing for their life because they saw a small spider is also rewarding. Your family and pests are important and deserve to live in a pest-free environment inside their home. You don’t have the time, the skill or the desire to be the “bug guy” or “bug lady”. That’s where we come in! You don’t have to DIY your pest control, neither should you want to. You’re busy, have better things to do and don’t need another worry. Four Seasons can provide that peace of mind, pest free environment and one less worry!
Pest-Free Equals a Healthy Environment
Several pests can cause mental stress, allergies, disease, illness and even death. Whether it’s bed bugs causing mental stress or a bee sting which might lead to death, there isn’t room in our lives for chance. That’s why it’s important to have a good pest management company to provide recurring pest services to reduce and eliminate these dangerous pests.
Rodents, bed bugs, cockroaches, wasps, bees, flies, mosquitoes, ticks and fleas all pose potentially serious risks when present. Stinging insects can cause allergic reactions and lead to death. Bed bugs can cause mental stress, anxiety and some allergies when present in large numbers. Cockroaches can cause allergies, transmit diseases and cause illnesses. Rodents can cause allergies, illnesses, disease and even structure fires by chewing on electrical wiring within a building! Mosquitoes and ticks carry the threat of diseases which are potentially life threatening. Flies can transmit disease, cause illnesses and be quite bothersome. Every human deserves the right to live in a pest-free environment and Four Seasons Pest Solutions can make that happen for you and your family. You don’t have to live with pests!
Investment Protection from Pests
When you are spending hundreds and thousands of dollars each month for housing, utilities and entertainment, it can all “go to pot” with the presence of only a few pests. Termites and other wood destroying insects can cause serious structural damage and cost thousands of dollars in repairs. Rodents come with the threat of structure fires due to their insistent chewing. Bed bugs can cost thousands in furniture damages alone. Flies and roaches contaminate food and create waste that hard-earned money paid for! Do we work just so we can throw our money away? Heck no! We want to spend wisely while saving for the future! Pest control helps accomplish that goal by protecting your investments and saving you hundreds and thousands of dollars in unnecessary repair and replacement expenses!
I Guess I Need Pest Control Then?
Darn right you do! So do I. We all do. The things we just discussed alone, are more than enough evidence to prove it. Additionally, this presents a legitimate and undeniable argument that pest control is completely affordable and should be part of every household and commercial budget. That’s why more than half of middle class and wealthier homes have regular recurring pest control plans in place. You should too.
Pest Control Professionals are trained to understand when to apply pesticides, where to apply them, how to apply them, why to apply them and which pesticides work best for specific pests. Additionally, pesticides aren’t always the answer. Exclusions, traps, monitoring devices and several other methods may be more suitable for certain pests. When you hire a pro, you’re paying for knowledge, expertise, precision, safety and much more. When you DIY, you’re doing a job you aren’t trained for, know little to nothing about and probably really don’t want to do anyway. Besides all that, their are some serious risks for the DIY’er when it comes to pest control. However, we’ll save that topic for another day.
Choosing the Right Pest Company is Important
When choosing a pest control company to perform your pest control services, it’s important to choose the right one. There are several factors to consider:
- Do they answer their phone? (Many companies have answering services. Look for one which doesn’t).
- Do their staff seem knowledgeable?
- Are they a small business? (Small firms typically offer better customer service and satisfaction)
- Are they reputable? Licensed? Insured? Bonded?
- Do they have good reviews?
- Do they have several reviews?
- How long have they been in business?
- Do they offer complete pest services or just some? (Ask if they cover ALL pests).
- What’s their response time?
- Can they offer references?
There’s nothing wrong with asking these questions. Knowing WHO you’re hiring is just as important as knowing WHAT you’re hiring them for. Ask questions NOW and you get no surprises later!
